
Nearing her final year at UC Berkeley, Nevya (she/her) is completing the English major and the Public Policy minor. She joined the EUA as a junior, serving as the treasurer before taking on the president role for the 2025-2026 academic year. Some of her favorite books include A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, and The Princess Diaries series when she wants something comforting to read. She loves how much freedom the English major allows for its students to explore literature they are interested in while giving them the chance to engage in texts that they never thought they would enjoy. In her free time, she loves spending days in San Francisco, trying new bakeries and cafes while spending time with her friends, and hosting Disney movie marathons.

Janie (she/her) is a third year English and Global Studies student. She serves as the EUA’s Vice President. Her favorite books are The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong. Her favorite part about being an English major is the broadness and depth of it. In Janie’s free time, she enjoys learning languages (Spanish, Chinese, Norwegian) as well as picking up new hobbies/interests every few months (currently onto rock climbing and cars). Fun fact about Janie is that she has a 1157+ day Duolingo streak.

Vasu (she/her) is a third-year student studying English & Political Science with a minor in Public Policy. She is the EUA’s treasurer, and balances the books and manages the budget. Some of her favorite books are The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery and Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Her favorite part of being an English major is getting phenomenal book recommendations from everyone. Aside from reading, Vasu enjoys backpacking, playing board games, and spending time with her cat.

Nat (she/her/any) is a Junior student majoring in English and minoring in Spanish. She is the EUA’s Secretary–she is in charge of emails and the newsletter. Some of her favorite books are Woman Hollering Creek by Sandra Cisneros and Dominicana by Angie Cruz. Her favorite part of being an English major is being able to be a modern day dragon, hoarding all her lovely books in her room. Hobbies include: cliffdiving, swimming with turtles, and finding the next opportunity to get an adrenaline rush (if you’ve ever wanted to do something insane with no one to go with, she is who you should ask).

Isabella (she/her) is a fourth-year student studying English and Data Science with a minor in Creative Writing. She is the EUA’s marketing and outreach manager. Her favorite books are The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner and Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. Her favorite part of being an English major is finding her favorite genre within the English literary movements (her favorites are Southern Gothic and Dark Romanticism). Her hobbies include visiting rural towns, writing fiction, and trying seasonal recipes.

Sophia (she/her) is a third-year studying English with a minor in Public Policy. She is the EUA’s social media manager. Her favorite books are Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Her favorite part of being an English major is getting to read a variety of literature from not only different parts of the world, but also different time frames as well. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, thrifting, collecting vinyls, watching reality TV, and going for matcha runs with friends.

Aubrey (she/they) is a third year double majoring in English and Spanish Linguistics. They are the EUA’s publications and website manager. Their favorite book is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. Aside from reading and writing, other things they love about the English major include meeting interesting people and exploring language, culture, and the human condition through literature. They like to spend their free time baking, gardening, hiking, listening to music and spending time with friends.

Ezra (she/her) is a single mom to a four year old named Amara and a proud transfer student from Long Beach CA. Her favorite book is The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks. Her hobbies consist of digging for vinyl, getting lost in thrift stores and seeing live music. Her favorite part about being an English major is nerding out in discussions.

Randilyn (she/her) is a senior studying English and minoring in journalism. As a transfer from Mt. San Antonio Community college, her involvement on campus is centered on supporting other transfer students. Her favorite book is The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchinson and her favorite part of being an English major is the research on prevalent current issues. Her current research as a HAAS Scholar revolves around the language used in LGBTQ+ YA book bans. Fun fact, she has two birds back at home and loves to play videogames and bake!
